What must an operator's self-monitoring cover in Finland?
The operator must be aware of the environmental effects and risks of the activity and must monitor emissions, waste and the state of the environment as the permit or the Act requires. Monitoring is recorded, the data are kept and submitted to the supervisory authority at set intervals, and exceptional situations must be notified without delay. The supervisory authority may require the operator to supplement monitoring and to produce measurement results.
