Risk classification by legal area
A class is not a judgement about a company. It says how densely regulated an area is in our register, counted the same way for every area, so a reader can redo the arithmetic by hand.
How the class is counted
Four signals are measured per area and given points on a fixed ladder: statutes in the register (0-2), a statute linked to an EU act (0 or 2), a supervisory authority with its own published regulations (0 or 1) and guiding decisions applying the area's statutes (0-2).
The sum runs from 0 to 7 and falls into three classes. No amount, penalty level or deadline is written here: those live in the statute text at the primary source, and the row links there.
The three classes
- Class 1, densest46
- Five points or more. Several statutes, EU law attached and case law that has already been tested in the highest courts.
- Class 2, elevated4
- Three or four points. The area is regulated and supervised, but fewer rows are read and case law is thinner.
- Class 3, basic0
- Two points or fewer. Few rows in the register today. A low class says something about our reading, not about the risk in a matter.

What the class does not say
- It is not an assessment of a company, a matter or a document. Nothing about a customer is read or stored.
- It moves when the register moves. A new statute or a new decision changes the points, and the version below changes with it.
- A missing row is shown as a missing row. The class is never rounded up to look complete.
