Who must register in the German packaging register LUCID?
Every producer who is first to place filled packaging on the German market in the course of business must register, including distance sellers abroad who supply end users in Germany. Registration with the Central Agency Packaging Register happens before placing on the market and must be done in person by the producer, packaging subject to system participation must also be enrolled in a dual system, and volumes must be reported to the system and to the Central Agency. Without registration there is a ban on distribution, and a breach can carry an administrative fine.
