Which companies are subject to German supply chain due diligence?

The Supply Chain Due Diligence Act applies to companies with their head office, principal place of business, administrative seat, statutory seat or a domestic branch in Germany and, as a rule, at least 1,000 employees in Germany. The duties cover a risk management system with a named responsible person, an annual and event-driven risk analysis, a policy statement, preventive and remedial measures in the company's own operations and at direct suppliers, a complaints procedure, documentation and a report. The Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control supervises and can impose fines.
