May the employer decide when holiday is taken?

Yes, after discussion with the employee or an employee representative, and the employee may demand three continuous weeks within the main holiday period from 1 June to 30 September. The employee may require notice of the dates at least two months in advance. Holiday may only be changed where unforeseen events cause substantial operational problems, and the employee is then entitled to compensation for documented additional costs.
