Med personbil avses även lastbil med skåpkarosseri och buss, om fordonets totalvikt är högst 3 500 kilogram. Detta gäller dock inte om lastbilens förarhytt utgör en separat karosserienhet.
Med personbil avses i 5 kap. 31 §, 7 kap. 25 §, 8 kap. 7 § och 13 kap. 20-23 §§ dock inte fordon som är personbil klass II enligt 2 § lagen (2001:559) om vägtrafikdefinitioner och har en totalvikt som
1. överstiger 3 500 kilogram, eller
2. är högst 3 500 kilogram, om fordonets förarhytt utgör en separat karosserienhet.
