Med punktskattepliktiga varor avses energiprodukter, alkohol, alkoholhaltiga drycker eller tobaksvaror såsom dessa varor definieras i gällande unionslagstiftning för punktskatter. Det gäller dock inte gas som levereras genom ett naturgassystem som finns inom unionens territorium eller genom ett gasnät som är anslutet till ett sådant system.
