Member States and the Commission shall take the necessary steps to ensure that their officials and agents are required to protect information obtained for the purposes of this Regulation. That information shall be treated as confidential in accordance with Union and national law.
- Paragraph 3 applies. 3. Protection of professional secrecy shall not prevent the dissemination to the competent authorities of Member States and to the Commission of information relevant for ensuring the effectiveness of market monitoring and surveillance activities. The authorities receiving information covered by professional secrecy shall ensure its protection in accordance with Union and national law.

In particular, the public shall have access to information on product identification, the nature of the risk and the measures taken. That information shall also be provided in accessible formats for persons with disabilities.
