Who carries extended producer responsibility for packaging in Norway?
Producers and importers that place packaging or packaged goods on the Norwegian market carry producer responsibility and must be members of an approved return scheme. The scheme must arrange collection and material recovery and meet the recovery targets set per material, funded by member fees. Undertakings below the threshold in the regulation are exempt, and packaging must in any case be designed so that its volume and environmental impact are as low as possible.
