Om ett meddelande som konsumenten ska lämna till näringsidkaren eller någon annan enligt 3 kap. 4 eller 6 §, 5 kap. 2, 4 eller 11 § eller 5 § i detta kapitel har sänts på ett ändamålsenligt sätt, får meddelandet åberopas även om det försenas, förvanskas eller inte kommer fram. Detsamma gäller ett sådant meddelande med föreläggande av tilläggstid som näringsidkaren kan lämna till konsumenten enligt 7 kap. 6 §.
