Do I need a licence to offer crypto services in the EU?
Yes. Anyone who exchanges, holds or transfers crypto-assets for clients as a business needs authorisation as a crypto-asset service provider under MiCA, issued by the national authority, for example Finansinspektionen in Sweden or BaFin in Germany. Transitional rules end no later than 1 July 2026.
