How is a building permit appealed?

The decision is appealed to the county administrative board within three weeks of service for a party, and within four weeks of the official announcement for other affected persons.

What the source says

  • Chapter 13 of the Planning and Building Act: a permit decision may be appealed to the county board.
  • Chapter 9 section 41 a: the decision is announced in the official gazette.
  • Section 44 of the Administrative Procedure Act: the appeal period is three weeks from service.

For the owner, landlord or seller

A permit may be implemented at the earliest four weeks after the announcement even where it has not been appealed.

For the tenant, buyer or client

Check the announcement date, that and not the decision date governs a neighbour's deadline.
