What producer responsibility applies to packaging in Denmark?
Whoever first places packaging on the Danish market must register in the producer register, report the quantities placed on the market and pay for the collection and treatment of the packaging waste. The responsibility also covers information on the design and recyclability of the packaging, and fees may be differentiated on those characteristics. The rules follow the EU framework for extended producer responsibility and are administered by Danish Producer Responsibility.
