What producer responsibility applies to packaging in Sweden?
Anyone who fills or brings a packaged product onto the Swedish market must be affiliated with an approved producer responsibility organisation, pay a fee based on volume and material and report the volumes placed on the market. Packaging must be designed so that material recycling is possible, and sorting information must be given to the user of the product. The municipality is responsible for household collection, while producers finance it.
