Vårdbidrag har ansetts kunna avse vård- och tillsynsbehovet i fråga om sådana akuta försämringstillstånd hos barnet som på grund av handikappets natur kunnat förutses vid bidragets beviljande. Tillfällig föräldrapenning har till följd av en regel i 4 kap. 11 § tredje stycket lagen (1962:381) om allmän försäkring i dess äldre lydelse (nuvarande 4 kap. 11 b §) inte ansetts kunna utges för att tillgodose samma behov som vårdbidraget.
