Sedan åtgärder enligt zoonoslagen (1999:658), bl.a. slakt av grisar, vidtagits på grund av att salmonellasmittat foder levererats till ett antal lantbrukare, har Jordbruksverket betalat ersättning enligt zoonosförordningen (1999:660) till de lantbrukare som drabbats av åtgärderna. Staten har inte ansetts ha rätt att regressvis ta i anspråk lantbrukarnas skadeståndsfordringar mot leverantören av det salmonellasmittade fodret.
