NovaCopilot system card

NovaCopilot is not a language model. It is a source-linked engine that searches the platform's own register and assembles the answer from the register's own rows. This card describes how that works, what never happens, and how to verify an answer afterwards.

How the answer is built

  • The question is parsed on the device: keywords, identifier, article number and question type.
  • The question type decides the angle: what applies, who is covered, penalty, deadline, supervision or procedure.
  • The register is ranked locally and the best-matching rows are quoted verbatim, with a path to the published node.
  • The short answer is a fixed template filled with the register's own data, heading, identifier and layer. No sentence is written freely.

What never happens

  • No text is generated by a language model.
  • No question leaves the device and no answer is fetched from an external service.
  • No profiling and no training on user questions.
  • No guessing: when the register holds nothing, it says so.

Known limits

  • The register holds metadata and summaries, not full statutory text. The official text sits with the publisher and is linked.
  • The answer reflects the index version downloaded to the device. When the register updates, the answer, and the receipt code, change.
  • Coverage spans the EU, Sweden, Norway, the US and selected global layers. Outside that coverage there is no answer to give.
  • The answer is decision support, not legal advice.

The receipt code

  • Every answer carries a code computed over the question, the index version and the cited nodes' addresses.
  • The same question against the same index version always yields the same code and the same text.
  • A differing code between two occasions means the register changed in between, traceable to version and node.

Human oversight

  • Every cited row links to its published node, so the statement can be read in its source.
  • The verification steps below the answer name what to read before a decision is taken.
  • The user decides; the system supplies material and discloses where it comes from.
