The AI Act in practice

The regulation sorts systems by risk and puts the requirements on roles, not on companies. The same company can be a provider in one system and a deployer in another. This page goes through the roles, the requirements and the dates, and every row points at the article in the register.

The roles

  • Provider: develops the system or places it on the market under its own name. Carries the heaviest duties.
  • Deployer: uses the system in a professional capacity. Carries operation, oversight and information to those affected.
  • Importer and distributor: check that marking, documentation and declaration exist before passing the system on.
  • The role can shift: putting your own name on a bought system makes you the provider.

Requirements follow the risk class

  • Prohibited practice stays prohibited regardless of documentation.
  • High-risk systems require risk management, data governance, technical documentation, logging, human oversight, accuracy and robustness.
  • Systems that meet people require transparency: the reader must know the counterpart is a system.
  • General-purpose models carry their own duties on documentation and copyright policy.

How to use the register

  • Every article has its own address with heading, reading date and hash.
  • The agent demo classifies a system against the rule tree and shows the evidence chain article by article.
  • Ask the assistant about a role or a requirement and the row is quoted with a path to the article.

The NovaCopilot models

The decision model

In: A role, a legal act and the situation in plain words.

Out: The obligations that reach the role, the article behind them and what remains.

When: When the question is whether a requirement applies to you, and why.

The difference model

In: A checksum already used and the date of the last reading.

Out: What changed since then: checksum, reading date, passed deadline and rows to revisit.

When: When earlier work is reused and has to be checked first.

The obligation model

In: A legal act or an article, with or without a role filter.

Out: The obligation in the register's wording, the role it reaches, canonical address and reading date.

When: When the answer has to be citable article by article.

Example for an agent

curl -s "https://legal.exploreworldai.com/novacopilot/eu-ai-forordningen?format=agent"
  • canonical, the address to cite
  • node_hash, the checksum for the next comparison
  • corpus_version, the corpus version that answered
  • freshness.read_at, the reading date of the row
  • freshness.next_check, when a new check is reasonable
  • citation.string, the finished citation
  • agent.receipt, the receipt of the call, without a key

FAQ

How do I know whether our system is high risk?
Classification follows the use case and the role, not the technology. The risk classification on the platform walks the questions in order and shows which article each answer rests on.
Do you rewrite the legal text?
No. Articles stand as they were read, with reading date and hash. The pages here explain the structure; they do not replace the text.
Is this legal advice?
No. It is a search in published sources with a path back to the original, meant as material for whoever makes the decision.
