Tillsynsmyndigheten ska skyndsamt anmäla överträdelser av bestämmelser i balken eller i föreskrifter som har meddelats med stöd av balken till Polismyndigheten eller Åklagarmyndigheten, om det finns anledning att anta att ett brott har begåtts.
Om tillsynsmyndigheten finner att villkoren i ett tillstånd till en miljöfarlig verksamhet eller vattenverksamhet inte är tillräckliga och det finns förutsättningar enligt 24 kap. 5, 7, 8 eller 9 §, ska myndigheten ansöka om prövning eller ta upp frågan om att ändra eller upphäva villkor utan någon särskild framställning om detta enligt det som sägs i 24 kap. 11 §. Lag (2022:1100).
