Bestämmelserna i 3 a § ska tillämpas även på försäkringsverksamhet som omfattas av 2 kap. 8 §.
Ett skadeförsäkringsföretag som bedriver sin verksamhet genom generalrepresentation ska anses utgöra en självständig filial i förhållande till ett annat skadeförsäkringsföretag som bedriver verksamhet genom samma generalrepresentation.
När bestämmelserna om årsbokslut i 3 a § andra stycket 3 tillämpas, gäller inte de föreskrivna begränsningarna i första stycket i den paragrafen till företag som lyder under lagstiftningen i en stat inom Europeiska ekonomiska samarbetsområdet och till vissa slag av försäkringsföretag.
