Om det på grund av verksamhetens natur är nödvändigt att en arbetstagare står till arbetsgivarens förfogande på arbetsstället för att vid behov utföra arbete, får jourtid tas ut med högst 48 timmar per arbetstagare under en tid av fyra veckor eller 50 timmar under en kalendermånad. Som jourtid anses inte tid då arbetstagaren utför arbete för arbetsgivarens räkning.
