Bestämmelser om arbetstagarrepresentanter i styrelsen finns i lagen (1987:1245) om styrelserepresentation för de privatanställda och i lagen (2008:9) om arbetstagares medverkan vid gränsöverskridande fusioner, delningar och ombildningar. Om inte något annat följer av dessa lagar eller föreskrivs i denna lag, ska arbetstagarrepresentanter vid tillämpningen av denna lag jämställas med styrelseledamöter. Lag (2022:1647).
