Bestämmelserna i denna balk om sådana särskilda skyddade områden som avses i 27 § första stycket 1 och 2 ska tillämpas även i Sveriges ekonomiska zon. Om ett sådant område finns i den ekonomiska zonen, ska det som i 29 b § första stycket sägs om länsstyrelsen gälla länsstyrelsen i det län där Sveriges sjöterritorium är närmast det berörda området.
Bestämmelser om hänsyn till folkrättsliga grundsatser finns i 10 § lagen (1992:1140) om Sveriges ekonomiska zon. Lag (2008:831).
