Regeringen ska, i samband med att föreskrifter enligt 1 § meddelas, även besluta vilka som ska kontrollera att en miljökvalitetsnorm följs.
Regeringen eller den myndighet som regeringen bestämmer får meddela föreskrifter om provtagning och andra metoder för att kontrollera att en miljökvalitetsnorm följs samt om godkännande av mätmetoder och mätutrustning. Lag (2018:1407).
