Om ett område enligt 5-8 §§ är av riksintresse för flera oförenliga ändamål, skall företräde ges åt det eller de ändamål som på lämpligaste sätt främjar en långsiktig hushållning med marken, vattnet och den fysiska miljön i övrigt. Behövs området eller del av detta för en anläggning för totalförsvaret skall försvarsintresset ges företräde.
Beslut med stöd av första stycket får inte strida mot bestämmelserna i 4 kap.
