Regeringen får meddela föreskrifter om att biotekniska organismer och varor ska registreras i produktregistret eller i ett annat motsvarande register.
Föreskrifter om registrering av varor får meddelas endast i fråga om varor som på grund av sitt innehåll av en kemisk produkt eller på grund av att de har behandlats med en kemisk produkt kan befaras medföra skada på människor eller miljön eller andra intressen som skyddas genom denna balk. Lag (2016:781).
