Om villkoren för garantin enligt ett garantibevis är mindre fördelaktiga för konsumenten än de som har utfästs i marknadsföring av varan, gäller villkoren enligt marknadsföringen. Det gäller dock inte om marknadsföringen före köpet har anpassats till villkoren i garantibeviset på ett sätt som är likvärdigt med det sätt på vilket marknadsföringen först gjordes.
