Ett aktiebrev får bytas ut mot ett eller flera andra aktiebrev. I så fall ska det äldre aktiebrevet och de kuponger som hör till aktiebrevet förstöras.
Ett aktiebrev som ges ut i stället för ett annat i samband med utbyte enligt första stycket eller i samband med dödning enligt lagen (2011:900) om dödande av förkommen handling, ska innehålla uppgift om att det ersätter ett tidigare aktiebrev. Lag (2014:539).
