What is the deadline for filing annual accounts at Companies House?

A private company must file its accounts within nine months of the end of the accounting reference period, and a public company within six months. A first set of accounts covering more than twelve months is due twenty-one months after incorporation for a private company and eighteen months for a public company. The period can be shortened at any time, but it can normally be extended only once in five years.
