What are the penalties under the Bribery Act 2010?
An individual faces up to ten years' imprisonment and an unlimited fine, and a commercial organisation convicted of failing to prevent bribery faces an unlimited fine. A conviction also brings mandatory or discretionary exclusion from public procurement and can be followed by confiscation of the benefit obtained. A deferred prosecution agreement is available to organisations but not to individuals.
