What is the adequate procedures defence under the Bribery Act?

A commercial organisation charged with failure to prevent bribery has a defence if it can show it had adequate procedures designed to prevent bribery by associated persons. Government guidance sets out six principles: proportionate procedures, top-level commitment, risk assessment, due diligence, communication and training, and monitoring and review.
