Treårig s.k. konsumentpreskription gäller för en hyresvärds fordran mot en hyresgäst när hyresvärden är näringsidkare och hyresgästen konsument. Den treåriga preskriptionstiden har också ansetts gälla när hyresvärden och hyresgästen ingått en förlikning där den ursprungliga fordran, grundad på hyresförhållandet, har ersatts av en ny fordran som grundats på förlikningsavtalet.
