- Paragraph 1 applies. 1. When acting as relying parties for cross-border services, Member States shall ensure unequivocal identity matching for natural persons using notified electronic identification means or European Digital Identity Wallets.
- Paragraph 2 applies. 2. Member States shall provide for technical and organisational measures to ensure a high level of protection of personal data used for identity matching and to prevent the profiling of users.
- Paragraph 3 applies. 3. By 21 November 2024, the Commission shall establish a list of reference standards and, where necessary, establish specifications and procedures for the requirements referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article by means of implementing acts. Those implementing acts shall be adopted in accordance with the examination procedure referred to in Article 48(2).
